Eco-Indigo Wins a BIOKET Innovation Award
This award for Eco-Indigo recognizes Pili’s commitment to more responsible denim dyeing through a bio-based innovation designed for industrial scale.
On Wednesday, March 18, Pili had the honor of receiving a BIOKET Innovation Award for Eco-Indigo. This distinction recognizes an innovation that is making a concrete contribution to the transition toward a more sustainable, circular, and competitive bioeconomy.
Accepted on stage by Guillaume Boissonnat-Wu on behalf of the entire Pili team, the award celebrates a major step forward for the denim industry. With Eco-Indigo, Pili is commercializing the first industrially scaled bio-based indigo dye, designed as a drop-in alternative to conventional petrochemical indigo.
At a time when 99% of global indigo production still relies on fossil resources and toxic reagents such as aniline, Eco-Indigo offers a tangible path forward by reducing environmental impact while eliminating hazardous chemistry.
This recognition marks an important milestone in Pili’s mission to make dye manufacturing more responsible, industry-compatible, and capable of meeting the transformation challenges facing the textile sector.
